Money and The Church
Do you want to create a sense of discomfort in the church? If so, an almost sure way to do so is to mention the topic of money. What is the source of such discomfort? Is it that people are afraid that the monies are not always channeled in the right direction? Could it be that the leaders are not leading by example when they ask others to give what they, themselves, are not giving? Could it also be that tough economic times are simply hindering people from giving as they once did or as they would like to?
Perhaps the most important principle that should be remembered when it comes to giving in the church is that God loves a cheerful giver.
Whether people want to talk about money in the church or not, one can never negate its necessity. Money, does indeed, answer all things. Perhaps the most important principle that should be remembered when it comes to giving in the church is that God loves a cheerful giver. Whatever we give should always be given with the right spirit. God will handle the rest.
